Albino S. Gomes, 80, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was husband to Herminia (Justo) Gomes and son of the late Joao and Teresa (Sousa) Gomes. Survivors include: his wife; his children Joao Anibal Gomes of Dartmouth, Jose Carlos Gomes of Fairhaven, Jose Joaquim Gomes of Acushnet, and Ana Teresa Curral of Acushnet; his grandchildren Jennie G. Curral, Nelson G. Curral, Courtney L. Gomes, Alyssa M. Gomes, Nickko J. Gomes, Jesse A. Gomes, and Zachary J. Gomes; his great-grand children Hayden Z. Gomes and Landyn J. Gomes; and his beloved schnauzer, Sophie Gomes. He is also survived by brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews in the United States and in Portugal. Albino was a wonderful father, grandfather and an amazing role model for his family. His hobbies included spending time with his family, gardening, working on his home, and occasionally rabbit hunting. He was born in Valdegas, Portugal and lived there for many years. Albino brought his family to the United States, where he worked in the construction industry until his retirement. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. His funeral mass will be held Tuesday 9am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Monday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery
