Alfred Roda

Alfred Roda 90 of New Bedford, died Wednesday January 27, 2010 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. He was the husband of the late Candida (Machado) Roda and son of the late Domingos and Lucinda (Fernandes) Roda. He was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. Mr. Roda was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. He was formerly employed as a laborer for many construction companies until his retirement. Survivors include his son Alfredo Roda and his wife Elizabeth of New Bedford, his daughter Anna Mello and her husband Michael of New Bedford, three brothers Antonio Roda, Domingos Roda and Zefino Roda all of Milford, MA, two sisters Maria Carneiro of Milford, Ana Vaz of New Bedford; his grandchildren Ariane Mello, Alicia Mello, Eric Roda and Leslie Roda also many nieces and nephews. His funeral mass will be said 9am Friday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visitation will be Thursday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery.
