Alice Alves

Alice (Sylvia) Alves 88 of New Bedford passed away Sunday March 23, 2014 at home. She was the widow of Jordan “Lucky” Alves Jr. and daughter of the late Joseph and Angeline (Enos) Fernandes. She was born in Freetown and lived in this area all of her life. Alice was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was formerly employed by Justin Clothing as a floor worker until her retirement. Survivors include her daughter Donna Botelho and her husband Francis; her sister Lucy Vieira and her husband John all of New Bedford and her cat Sandy. She was the sister of the late Natalie Mathias, Thomas Sylvia, Margaret Pina and Frank Sylvia. Her funeral mass will be said 10:30am Friday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Friday morning 8:30 until 10:00.Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
