Angelo Fonseca

Angelo Fonseca 61 of New Bedford passed away Tuesday February 11, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Maria Inez (Furtado) Fonseca; they had been married for 34 years, and son of the late Joao and Maria (DosSantos) Fonseca. He was born in Lago, St. Michael, Azores and had lived in the United States since 1979. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Mr. Fonseca was formerly employed as a laborer at Bond Brothers for 28 years. He was a member of the New Bedford Sports Club and the Laborers Union Local 51 of Cambridge. Survivors include his wife; his sons Nuno Michael Fonseca, Scott Fonseca and Daniel Fonseca all of New Bedford; his sister Filomena Silva of Terceira; 3 grandsons, a granddaughter, many sister-in-laws, brother –in- laws, nieces and nephews. His funeral mass will be said Saturday 11am at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Visiting hours are Friday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
