Antonio Escobar

Antonio "Tony" B. Escobar, 73, of Acushnet, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Faial, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Antonio Escobar and the late Maria Alice (Borges-Dias) Escobar and loving husband to Maria (Medeiros) Escobar. 

Upon coming to the United States in 1970, Tony became a business owner starting his own transportation company, Escobar Transportation which he later retired from. He took immense joy in collecting cars especially his 2 Mercedes-Benz. 

Antonio is survived by his wife, Maria; his brother Armando Escobar; sister Fatima Escobar-Bowman and her husband Daniel; several nieces and nephews. 

In accordance with his wishes, Antonio will be cremated with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception to be held at a later date.
