Antonio C. Marmelo

Antonio C. Marmelo, 86, of Dartmouth, passed away at home on Monday, March 16, 2026. Born in Linhares, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose Marmelo and the late Alice (Costa) Marmelo and loving husband to his wife, Dolores (Vilela) Marmelo.

Antonio was well known for his love of soccer and his involvement in the local Portuguese community. He played for several clubs, including Portuguese American Club, Portuguese Sports Club, and Clube Recordações de Portugal, where he formed many lasting friendships and remained connected to the sport throughout his life. He was a supporter of FC Porto. He also enjoyed spending time on the water, whether power boating or sailing, and especially cherished the friendly competition of racing with his son. Antonio took great pride in landscaping and maintaining his yard, always keeping his home in beautiful condition. Above all, Antonio was devoted to his family. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandsons, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Antonio is survived by his wife, Dolores; son, Paul Marmelo and his wife Bernadette; grandchildren, Zachary Marmelo and Nicholas Marmelo; sisters, Ines Figuerido, Umbelina Almeida, Barbara Carreiro and Fatima Cardoso; brother, Jose Marmelo and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Connie Pacheco and granddaughter, Kasey Marmelo. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20th at the Boulevard Funeral Home beginning at 8am. This will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
