Arlindo Pereira

Arlindo Pereira 69 of New Bedford passed away Friday January 11, 2013 at St. Luke’s hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Lucinda (Neto) Pereira and son of the late Albino and Albina (Rosa) Pereira. He was born in Chaves, Portugal and had lived in New Bedford for 42 years. Mr. Pereira was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was formerly employed as a laborer for Local 223 of Boston. He was a member of the Clube Recordacoes de Portugal and Local 223. Survivors include his wife; his sons Brian Pereira, Carlos Pereira and Rui Pereira; his daughter Diana Lopez all of New Bedford; his brothers Horacio Pereira , Damasio Pereira both of Fairhaven, Jose Alberto Pereira of New Bedford; his sisters Sr. Julia Pereira of Buenos Aires, Guiomar Almeida, Ermelinda Pereira and Dina Neves all of North Dartmouth; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. He his also survived by many nieces and nephews. His funeral mass will be said Wednesday 9am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-8pm. Burial will be in Rural cemetery
