Dr. Aurelio M Valente

Dr. Aurelio M. Valente, 56, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Born in Sao Mamede, Portugal, he was the son of Alcides Valente and Albina (Vicente) Valente.

Aurelio was the Regional Assistant Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Studies for the University of South Florida at the St. Petersburg campus. Previously, he served as the Executive Director of Strategy and Operations for the Undergraduate College at National Louis University where he also served as the founding Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students.

Upon finishing his Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering at UMass Dartmouth, Aurelio went on to complete his Master of Business Administration at Suffolk University and his Master of Education, Administration of Higher Education at UMass Dartmouth. Ultimately receiving his Doctor of Education, Higher Education of Administration from Florida State University where he received the Melvene Draheim Hardee Fellow award for academic achievement.

Aurelio is survived by his parents, Alcides and Albina Valente; his brother, Luis Valente and his wife Donna; nephew and godson, Benjamin Valente; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Visitation at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception will be held at a day and times to be announced.
