Caciano Cruzeiro

Caciano Goncalves Cruzeiro 81 of Acushnet, died unexpectedly on Tuesday September 1, 2009 at St. Luke's hospital. He was the husband of Maria (Cardoso) Cruzeiro and son of the late Augusto and Maria dos Santos (Queiroga) do Cruzeiro. He was born in Valdegas, Boticas, Portugal and came to America in July 1969. He had lived in Acushnet for the past 24 years. He retired from Aerovox in 1989. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception chuch. Mr. Cruzeiro enjoyed gardening on his farm. Survivors include his wife, 3 daughters Alice Mendonca and her husband Diamantino of Wichita, Kansas, Emilia Cruzeiro and her husband Alcino also of Wichita, Kansas, Aurelia Magina and her husband Antonio of North Dartmouth, MA;  son Alpoim Cruzeiro of Wichita, Kansas; 1 brother Laurindo Cruzeiro of Wichita, Kansas, 1 sister Arminda Cruzeiro of Portugal. 4 granddaughters Lisa Alexander, Tracie Mauk, Christina Cruzeiro and Lauren Cruzeiro all of Wichita, 5 grandsons Anthony Cruzeiro, Carson Cruzeiro, Cooper Cruzeiro all of Wichita, Ryan Magina, Tyler Magina of North Dartmouth. A great-grandson Mason Teague of Wichita. His funeral mass will be said 9am Saturday September 5, 2009 at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in Acushnet Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8pm.
