Carlos Gil

Carlos Gil, 85 of Westport, passed away at Kimwell Nursing and Rehabilitation of Fall River on Friday, June 16th. Born in Buarcos, Figueria da Foz, Portugal, Carlos was the son of the late Carlos Gil and the late Olivia Jorge. He was the husband of the late Maria Conceicao (Lopes) Gil. Carlos worked for many years as a laborer but his true passion was fishing. He was cofounder of the United Fisherman's Club and could often be found weaving fishing nets or walking along the coastline of his hometown of Figueira da Foz. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Ferreira and her husband, Jose; grandchildren, Monica Martins, Nikita Ferreira, Tomas Ferreira, Miguel Ferreira; sisters, Rosa, Sao Cruz and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Jose Gil and sister, Adelaide Salgado.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27th from 5:30 - 6:30 pm with a memorial service at 6:00 pm, at Boulevard Funeral Home.
