Diogenes Amaral

Diogenes Amaral 57 of New Bedford passed away Monday October 12, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the son of Antonio DeAmaral and Dontilde (Pacheco) Amaral of New Bedford. Diogenes was born in St. Michael, Azores and had lived in this area for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was formerly employed as a laborer for Feeney Brothers. He was a member of the St. Michael Club and Ponta Delgada Club. Survivors include his parents, his children Dylan Amaral and Shyann Amaral; his brothers Armando Amaral, Daniel DaAmaral and Steven Amaral; his sisters Tibera Pereira, Connie Pacheco, Lucy Braga, Maria Sofia Nogueira and Sandra Pereira all of New Bedford. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes he was cremated. His funeral mass will be said 9am Friday, October23, at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
