Doris P. (Duval) Boivin, 75, of New Bedford passed away Monday July 18, 2016 at home. She was the wife of Ronald “Butch” Boivin for 56 years and daughter of the late Armand and Blanche (Gelinas) Duval. She was born in Acushnet and had lived in this area all of her life. Doris was a communicant of St. John Neumann Church and a member of their Couples Club. She was formerly employed by Keane Associates as a senior business analyst until her retirement. During her retirement she donated many hours volunteering at the local Food Pantry and spending countless hours enjoying her grandchildren. She loved to travel and wintered in Punta Gorda, FL. She greatly enjoyed investing in the stock market and would start her day checking on the Dow futures. Survivors include her husband, her daughter Suzanne Bonneau of New Bedford, her sons Ronald Boivin Jr. of New Bedford and Gerard Boivin and his wife Linda Morrison of Cumberland, Maine, her grandchildren Heather, Garrett, Trevor and Cameron and her great grandchildren Janaye and Kianna-Rae. In lieu of flowers Doris requested any donations be directed to Multiple Myeloma cancer research. A funeral mass with her cremated remains present will be said 10 am on Wednesday at St. John Neumann Church.
