Elsie Pacheco

October 5, 1922 — June 4, 2016

Elsie (Lucio) Pacheco 93 of New Bedford passed away Saturday June 4, 2016 at Alden Court. She was the wife of Jack Pacheco and daughter of the late Afonso and Josefa (Jesus) Lucio. She was born in New Bedford and lived here all of her life. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Elsie was the office manager at Jack’s Auto Body. Elsie and Jack would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on June 8. Elsie was a former member of the Panthers Golden Agers and a former officer at the Club Fe Patria. She was a translator for the U.S. government during WW II. Elsie was an avid Red Sox fan, she also liked to read and do crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband, her sister Mary Bernardo of Cranston, RI; also nieces, nephews and many Godchildren. She was the sister of the late Al Lucio, Julia Nobrega and Manuel Lucio. Her funeral will be held 9am Thursday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Wednesday 5-8pm.Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association 1 State St. Suite 200 Providence RI 02908 c/o Savannah’s Warriors.
