Eva Teixeira

– Eva M. (Henriques) Teixeira, 91 of Acushnet passed away Friday February 15, 2013 at New Bedford Health Care and Rehab Center after a brief illness.

She was the wife of the late John Teixeira.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Maria Alice (Macedo) Henriques. Raised by the late Mary Anthony of Fairhaven and late cousin Ida Garcia of New Bedford.

Eva retired after many years at The Berkshire Hathaway.

Since childhood she was an avid reader. She enjoyed watching game shows, movies and tennis on TV, going to lunch with family and friends especially her dear friend Rita Holden. She greeted everyone with a big smile and, quick wit, and was always giving and caring.

Survivors include her sister; Wanda (Henriques) Curry of Fairhaven; Sister-in-laws Barbara Henriques of New Bedford, Mary Lu Nichols of Bridgeport, CT; Brother-in-law Frank Teixeira of R.I. Nephews; Steven Henriques and wife Kellie, Jeffery Henriques and wife Faith of New Bedford. Frank Teixeira Jr. of R.I. Goddaughter Cathy Timmins and Husband Michael of Pocasset, Godson David Saraiva and wife Yvonne of Fairhaven, Foster brother Alfred Nichols and wife Jan of Florida and many other nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brother Albert Henriques, niece Cynthia Henriques, Foster brothers Ernest Nichols, Peter Farley, Leo Bousier and brother-in-law James Curry.

Eva will be dearly missed by her family, friends and cousins.

At her request Eva will be cremated. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Main St. in Fairhaven.
