Florence Costa

Florence (Sylvia) Costa 92 formerly of Acushnet passed away Sunday December 15, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Home. She was the daughter of the late Edmund and Anna (Marshall) Sylvia. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. She was a communicant of St. Kilians Church. She was formerly employed by Cherry and Webb downtown as the manager of the shoe dept. and later as the secretary for Debrosse oil. Survivors include her sons Kenneth Wayne Costa and his wife Maggie of Hillsville, VA, David Wayne Costa and his fiancée Catherine of Acushnet; her daughter Sandra Lee Moniz and her husband John of New Bedford; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Her funeral mass will be said 10am Thursday at St. Kilians Church. Visiting hours are Wednesday 6-8 pm. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
