Gilberto "Jack" Goncalves

Gilberto “Jack” Goncalves 48 of New Bedford passed away Sunday August 30, 2015. He was the husband of Jennifer (Gibney) Goncalves and son of the late Jeremias and Maria S. (Melo) Goncalves. He was born in Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores and had lived in this area for many years. Mr. Goncalves was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Jack was employed as a truck driver for Carriage Caravan. Survivors include his wife; his son Jeremy Goncalves and his companion Jennifer Richard of New Bedford; his daughter Brittany Soucy and her husband Garrett Soucy of Acushnet; his brothers Claudio Goncalves, Paulo Goncalves, Nelson Goncalves and Michael Goncalves all of New Bedford; his sister Victoria Aguiar of Acushnet; his grandchildren Jackson Goncalves, Jayce Goncalves and Brantley Soucy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. His funeral mass will be said Friday 10:30am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8pm.Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
