Hilda E Silva

Hilda E. (Tavares) Silva, 90 of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, July 10^th at Sarah Brayton Nursing Care. Born in New Bedford she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. Tavares and late Cecelia (Cardosa) Tavares and wife of the late Robert Silva. Hilda graduated from Kenyon Campbell Business School and was a long-time employee of Acushnet Company before her retirement. She enjoyed tending to her garden and playing Scrabble. Survivors include her daughter; Kathleen Fortier and husband, Bob of Westport; son, Robert J. Silva and wife, Marsha of Exeter, RI; grandchildren, Justin Fortier, Matthew Fortier, Christopher Fortier, Julie Silva; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass with Hilda's cremated remains will be held at 9:45am on Saturday, July 23rd at St. Gabriel The Arch Angel Church (formerly St. Mary's New Bedford). Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. All are welcome to join us prior to Mass from 8:30-9:30am at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd.
