Idwina Franco

Idwina (Morais) Franco 86 formerly of New Bedford passed away Monday October 25, 2011 at Alden Court. She was the widow of Joaquim L. Franco and daughter of the late Eduardo and Luzia (Antunes) Morais. She was born in New Bedford and lived here for many years. Survivors include her sons Joe Franco of Acushnet, Tony Franco of Dartmouth, her daughters Eduarda Mota of New Bedford, Emilia Harding of New Bedford, Dolores Berube of Seekonk, Gloria Fenaux of R.I., Alice Arsenault of New Bedford; her sister Emilia Duarte of Portugal; 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a cousin Alice Frates of Dartmouth. Mrs. Franco’s family would like to thank the staff at Alden Court and Beacon Hospice for their care and compassion, especially during the last two weeks. Her funeral mass will be said Friday 10 am at St. Francis Xavier Church. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8pm.Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery.
