May 18, 1927 — July 2, 2014
J. Raymond Ferreira 87 of Fairhaven passed away Wednesday July 2, 2014 at St. Luke’s hospital. He was the husband of Shirley (Cheetham) Ferreira and son of the late Estell (Martin) Bairros and step-son of the late John Bairros. He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of his life. He was a self-employed painter and wall paper hanger. Mr. Ferreira served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Survivors include his wife; many nieces and nephews including Ann Medeiros; Grandnieces and nephews including Maureen Haskell and Christopher Haskell; Great- grand nephews Jarred, Jeremy and Alexander Brown. He was the brother of the late William Ferreira, James Ferreira, Roland Ferreira, Dorothy Faber and Jeanette Rose. His funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday.Visiting hours are Monday 6-8pm. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
