John "Lindy" Freitas

John "Lindy" Freitas, 93, of New Bedford passed away Saturday, June 5th, at CareOne. He was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joao and Maria (Vieira) Freitas and was the husband of Jeannette (Martin) Freitas. John enjoyed bingo, the dog track, and dancing. He is survived by his wife Jeannette; sons; Kenneth Freitas, David Freitas and companion Lia Sousa, and Steven Freitas; daughters; Carol DeSouza and husband Michael, and Susan Braley and husband Wayne; grandchildren; Johnathan, Jessica, Jillian, Jenel, Jade, and Cortney; great grandchildren, Hope and Caleb. He is also survived by his nephews Manuel Costa and Dennis Costa. He is predeceased by his daughter Nancy Gruwell; sisters, Rose Costa and Evelyn Bielinski . All services will be private.
