Jonathan Tavares

Jonathan Lee Tavares, age 30, of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly Thursday March 23, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of New Bedford and a graduate of New Bedford High School. Jonathan was an avid wrestling and sports fan and loved playing poker. He attend New Life NB Christian Church and enjoyed playing soccer with the church team. He loved spending time with his family and attending family gatherings. Jonathan will be remembered for his great personality, sense of humor and hearty laugh. He is survived by his mother Grace Medeiros and step-father Louis Vieira of New Bedford, his father Gilberto Tavares  and step-mother Terry of New Bedford, half-sister Suzanne Tavares, a step -brother Timothy Vieira, 2 step-sisters Amy Vieira and Leanne Vieira, his "fur brother" Rocco, 4 nieces and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Almerinda Carreiro. Jonathan had a heart of gold, a gentle soul who was always considerate and respectful to everyone. the world is a little sadder and less loved without him.
