Jose Resendes

Jose Resendes 71 of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Manuel and Liduina (Sousa) Resendes. He was born in St. Michael and had lived in New Bedford for many years. Jose was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was a self employed carpenter. He loved taking care of his animals, making cheese and especially being with his children and grandchildren. His family would like to thank Southcoast VNA, especially Pam Shea and the nurses on Atwood 5 especially Jen V. for the care given to Jose. Survivors include his daughters Ann Marie Willis and her husband Brayton, Jo-Ann Kerr and her husband Kevin, Kristen Fontaine and her husband Nicholas. His sister Liduina Cordeiro and her husband Antonio. He is also survived by his grandchildren Cailyn Fontaine, Ryann Fontaine, Ethan Kerr, Aiva Kerr and Benjamin Willis.  He is also survived by his  companion Cecilia Leite, his Godchild Jillian Brune, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Vasco Resendes. His visitation will be held Friday 9:00 until 10:30 am at the funeral home. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
