Jose Armando Rosa

Jose Armando Rosa, 70, of New Bedford, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Born in Lajes, Terceira, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Armando Rosa and the late Georgina Goulart and the husband of Maria (Fatima) Rosa. Jose was a skilled carpenter for many years and a soccer referee in his spare time. He was an avid SL Benfica & Juventude Desportiva Lajense fan and would watch all the games. Jose is survived by his wife, Maria; son, Armando Rosa and wife, Margaret Amaral, Daniel Rosa; daughters, Carla Maciel and husband, Rogerio, Maria Santos, Sandra Coelho and husband, Marcio; Brothers, Joao Goulart, Libanio Goulart, Anselmo Goulart, Jacinto Goulart, Jeronimo Goulart; sister, Maria Amparo Goulart; grandchildren, Diogo Maciel, Isaac Santos, Marina Maciel, Daniela Maciel, Emily Coelho, Matthew Coelho, Olivia Coelho; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Paulo Rosa. His visitation will be held Wednesday, June 14th from 5-8pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA. Jose's Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 15th at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church at 10am. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
