Jose "Joe" Nobrega Jr.

Jose “Joe” B. Nobrega Jr. 60 of Fairhaven passed away Monday August 1, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley (Riddle) Nobrega and son of Dolores (Marujo) Nobrega of Fairhaven and the late Jose B. Nobrega. Joe was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fairhaven He was born and raised in New Bedford and had lived in Moorehead, KY for 25 years, where he was a Registered Pharmacist . When he moved back to this area, he was employed as a Registered Pharmacist for Pharma health and as a safety instructor at Kinder Morgan Natural Gas Pipeline in Texas. He was a lifetime member of the Clube Madeirense S.S. Sacramento. Survivors include his wife, his mother, his son Joshua D. Nobrega of Fairhaven, his daughter Tashena A. Fannin of San Diego, CA; his brother David Nobrega of New Bedford, his sister Rose Zolnierz and her husband David of East Freetown; his grandchildren Kaius Maradik and Rheya Fannin. He is also survived by step children, including Eric Harrison of Fairhaven; step grandchildren. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kim Zolnierz, Nick Zolnierz, Zac Zolnierz, Jen Nobrega and Eric Nobrega. His funeral Mass will be said 9am Friday, August 5 at St. Joseph’s Church in Fairhaven. Visiting hours are 5-8pm on Thursday. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
