Joseph M. Pitaro

Joseph Mario Pitaro 58, of New Bedford passed away at Brandon Woods of New Bedford on Wednesday July 15, 2026. Born in Quantico, Virginia he was son of the late Nicholas Robert Pitaro Sr. and the late Joan Helen (Furlong) Pitaro and commited partner to Beverly A. Alexander.

A lover of music, Joseph enjoyed playing the electric guitar and expressing himself through song. He also had a deep appreciation for nature and aviation, spending time spotting birds and watching planes with fascination and enthusiasm.

He is survived by his brothers; Michael Jude Pitaro and his wife Cecilia, Nicholas Robert Pitaro Jr, Steven Edward Pitaro and his wife Susan; sister, Donna Marie Cady.

In accordance with his wishes, Joseph will be cremated. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 26th at St. Edith Stein Parish in Brockton at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
