Josephine Monteiro

Josephine (Yata) Monteiro 78 of Acushnet, died at home on Saturday December 26, 2009. She was the wife of Herman Monteiro and daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Yata. She was born in Somerset and had lived in Acushnet for the past several years. She was formerly employed as a machine operator in the garment industry until her retirement. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Survivors include her husband, her son Joseph "Jay" Patenaude of Somerset, her brother Alexander Yata of Somerset, a niece and nephew.  Visitation will be Wednesday 6-8pm with her funeral service at 7:30. In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated.
