Joyce Sylvia

Joyce Sylvia 70 of New Bedford passed away Sunday December 4, 2016. She was the daughter of the late John Moura and Olive Sylvia. She was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. Joyce was formerly employed as an assembler at the Acushnet Co. Rubber Division. She loved to write poetry. Survivors include her brothers Manuel Sylvia and James Sylvia both of New Bedford; many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, Godchildren, and long time friend Sandy Burke. She was the sister of the late Harold Sylvia, Donald Sylvia, Joseph Sylvia, William Sylvia, Elsie May, Florence McClain, Ruth Blackburn and Doris Gaspar. A funeral mass with her cremated remains present will be said 9am Wednesday December 14, 2016 at the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery
