Laura Baldo

Laura (Voisine) Baldo 82 of New Bedford passed away Saturday February 20, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Humbert “Bert” Baldo and daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Maria J. (Wexler) Voisine. She was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. Laura was a communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church. She was formerly employed by the New Bedford School dept. as a cafeteria manager until her retirement. She loved to travel and being with her grandchildren. Survivors include her son Robert Baldo and his wife Terry of New Bedford, their children Ashley and Sarah; her daughter Nancy Lavoie of Virginia and her children Jessica, Jason and John Thomas, and her grandchildren Jackson, Olivia, Emily Jacob and Jordan; Her daughter Carol Baldo of New Bedford and her children Hailey and Sarina. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the mother-in-law of the late John Lavoie and sister of the late Joseph, Paul, Albert, Edward and Alfred Voisine. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 5-8pm. Her funeral mass will be said Thursday 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. James – St. John’s School.
