Laura Perry

Laura (Souza) Perry, 99, of New Bedford, passed away on June 22, 2025, at the Sippican Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Americo Perry and daughter of the late Antonio and Angelina (Cosme) Souza. Laura was a lifelong New Bedford resident and was a communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish. Laura was a graduate of Normandin Junior High School. As a young woman, she worked at Sol Mutterperl Co. / Fairhaven Corp. and as a spinner for various textile companies. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her granddaughters, who were the light of her life. She also loved reading about the British Royal Family, shopping at QVC and everything to do with Christmas. Survivors include her daughter Carolyn Schneider and her husband Walter; her granddaughters Cecilia Schneider and Angelina Schneider. She is also survived  by her Godchildren Michael Rapoza and his wife Janine, Catherine Winterhalter and her husband Joseph, Dan Ranieri, husband of her Godchild, the late Anne Ranieri and also her caregiver, Jennifer Vaz. She is also survived by her beloved cousin Maria de Paz Wilkinson. Visiting hours are kindly omitted. Everyone is invited to attend her mass of Christian burial, 11:30 am on Monday, June 30, at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 343 Tarklin Hill Rd. New Bedford. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Boston Childrens Hospital 300 Longwood Ave. Boston, MA 02115.
