Ludovina Ferreira

Ludovina (Oliveira) Ferreira, 74, of New Bedford, passed away at home on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Born in Candelaria, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Pereira Feteira and the late Maria Luiza Oliveira. She was the loving wife to Joao M. Ferreira for many years. 

Ludovina was a devout catholic and a longtime communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. She worked for many years as a Machine presser for various companies including Columbia Electronics and Volex Co. Ludovina loved spending time with her family and cooking fantastic meals for them to share. She was a true matriarch and caregiver.

She is survived by her husband, Joao; sons, John Ferreira of New Bedford and Nelson Ferreira and his wife, Christina Liu of Pawtucket, RI; brothers, Jose Oliveira Feteira and Joao Oliveira Feteira; sister, Conceicao Oliveira Feteira and several nieces and nephews. Ludovina is preceded in death by her parents and brother Manuel Oliveira Feteira. 

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. A Funeral Mass with Ludovina's cremated remains present will be held on Friday, August 30th at 10:00AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
