Manuel Furtado

Manuel Furtado 91 of New Bedford passed away Tuesday September 6, 2011 at St. Luke’s hospital. He was the husband of the late Lucille (Piche) Furtado and son of the late Antonio Furtado Lima and Emilia Tavares (deMedeiros) Lima. He was born in Fall River and had lived in New Bedford since 1964. He was formerly employed by American Flexible Conduit as a machine operator until his retirement. Survivors include his sister Emilia Moniz of St. Michael also many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Francisco A. Lima and Maria Furtado. His funeral mass will be said 9am Friday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visiting hours are Thursday 6-8pm. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery.
