Manuel Gomes

Manuel Gomes, 91, of New Bedford, passed away at home on Monday, November 20, 2023. Born in Boticas, Portugal, he was the son the late Joao Gomes and late Teresa (DeSousa) Gomes. He was the loving husband to his wife Maria Teresa (Furtado) Gomes.

Manuel was a hard worker and spent many years in construction and enjoyed his time as a member of his favorite hunting club. He was a longtime member of the New Bedford Sports Club.

Survivors include his sons; John Gomes and Steven Furtado and his daughter, Theresa Gomes. He is also survived by his brother; Angelo Gomes and two sisters; Marta Monteiro and Idalina Gomes and his grandchildren; Erica Gomes and Chelsea Gomes as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers; Albino Gomes and Luis Gomes.

A visitation will be held at the Boulevard Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 28th from 7:30-9:30am, with a Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
