Marcelina Araujo

Marcelina Araujo, 93, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, at home with her sons by her side. She was the wife of the late Artur DeAraujo. She was born in Brazil on April 9, 1928, to the late Lino Rua DaCruz and the late Luisa (Texeira) DaCruz. Her family moved to Portugal, and she lived in Montalegre until her adulthood. She came to America in 1955, where she settled in New Bedford. She was a stitcher for Justin Clothing and a few other companies. She is survived by her sons; Julio Araujo and Arthur Araujo, 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her sons Antonio T. DeAraujo and Fernando T. DeAraujo. A Funeral Mass will be held for Marcelina on Thursday, January 27th, at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in New Bedford at 10am, with burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery. All attendees are asked to meet at the church.
