Maria Botelho

Maria Joana (Raposo) Botelho 84 formerly of New Bedford passed away Saturday November 5, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the widow of Dinis C. Botelho and daughter of the late Manuel Taveira Raposo and Maria daGloria Raposo. She was born in St. Michael, Azores and had lived in the New Bedford area since 1969. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Mrs. Botelho was employed as a stitcher in the garment industry until her retirement. She enjoyed working in her garden, especially with her flowers, crocheting and being with her family. She was loved by all. Survivors include her daughters Ana Buxo of South Dartmouth, Lourdes Condeco of East Freetown, Joanne Cardozo of Acushnet; her sister Conceicao Leite of New Bedford; 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral mass will be said Wednesday 9am at Our lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visiting hours are Tuesday 5-8pm.Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery.
