Maria Delgado

Maria Clotilde (Rodrigues) Delgado 81 of Acushnet passed away Tuesday July 19, 2016 at Care One of New Bedford. She was the wife of the late Felipe Delgado with whom she shared 58 years of marriage and daughter of the late Manuel and Iluminata (Esperanca) Rodrigues. She was born in Melo, Portugal and came to United States in 1970 where she lived in New York before moving to New Bedford in 1972. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Mrs. Delgado was employed as a stitcher at Cliftex until her retirement. Survivors include her sons Victor Delgado and wife Filomena; Jose A. Delgado and wife Susan both of Acushnet; Sisters Otilia Tiago and Maria Ivone Salvador of Portugal; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Maria is predeceased by her son Armando J Delgado and sister Rosa Santos. The family would like to acknowledge and express profound gratitude to the nurses and staff of Care One New Bedford and Compassionate Care Hospice for their exceptionally kind and compassionate care. Her funeral mass will be said 8:30am Saturday July 30 at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Friday 5-8pm.In Lieu of flowers donations made be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
