Maria dos Anjos do Fetal (Ribeiro) Valente, 77, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Born in Portugal, she was the wife of the late Manuel Santos Valente and the daughter of the late Manuel Gregorio Gomes Ribeiro and Maria do Fetal De Jesus (Carreira). Maria loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She could often be found sewing and crocheting. Maria was a long-time communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Survivors include her sons; Paul Valente and wife, Lisa, Jason Valente and wife, Kristin; brother, Manuel Ribeiro; sister, Arminda Gomes; grandchildren, Nicholas, Eric, Brett, and Jordan; great grandchildren, Beckham and another on the way; cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd. on Sunday, October 15th from 5-8pm. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 16th at 10am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
