Maria das Dores (Bastos) Duarte 83 of New Bedford passed away Wednesday August 24, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born in Fermentelos, Portugal and had lived in New Bedford since 1974. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed her garden and “giving away” her kale and tomatoes. Survivors include her daughter Maria Alice Dacotanan of New Bedford; her sons Joao Antonio Duarte of Fall River, Artur Duarte of New Bedford, Carlos Duarte of North Dartmouth; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Her funeral mass will be said 9am Monday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Sunday 4-6pm. Burial will be in Fermentelos, Portugal
