Maria Silva

Maria Lourdes (Pacheco) Silva 95 of New Bedford passed away Wednesday May 22, 2019 at the Royal Taber St. Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Ernest Furtado Silva and daughter of the late Antonio Pacheco Custodio and Maria Franco deJesus. She was born in Feteira Pequena, Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores and had lived in New Bedford since 1980. Maria was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was formerly employed as a stitcher for Belleview Manufacturing until her retirement. Survivors include her sons Manuel Furtado Pacheco of New Bedford and Hildeberto Pacheco Furtado of Canada. Her daughter Conceicao Alves of New Bedford, her sister Germana Teixeira of New Bedford, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her funeral mass will be said 9am on Tuesday May 28 at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Monday May 27 from 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
