Michael LaPointe

Michael Joseph LaPointe, 41, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 18th, 2021. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of Jose Gonsalves and Charlene LaPointe. Michael worked as a truck driver for various companies. He was a diehard New England Patriots fan and loved all the hometown sports teams. Michael is survived by his mother; Charlene; father, Jose Gonsalves and wife Ana of New Bedford; daughter, Taytum LaPointe of Middleboro; paternal grandparents, Agostinho and Helena Goncalves of New Bedford; maternal grandmother, Brenda LaPointe of Dartmouth; aunts, Debra Gonsalves and husband Aristides Moura of New Bedford, Christine Vieira of New Bedford; Uncles, Aime LaPointe and Michael LaPointe both of East Freetown; cousins, Kimberly Alfredo of Port St. Lucie, FL, Lisa Gonsalves-Bell of New Bedford, Alexandra Moura of New Bedford and several extended family members. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Aime Norman LaPointe; aunt, Gerogina LaPointe and uncle, George Gonsalves. Michael's visiting hours are Sunday, December 26th at the Boulevard Funeral Home from 2-5pm.  All attendees are asked to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
