Olinda Motta

Olinda “Lilly” (Roda) Roque Motta 85 of New Bedford passed away on Tuesday March 6, 2012 at Alden Court Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Frank Roque and James Motta. She was also daughter of the late Americo and Ida (Justo) Roda. She was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. Mrs. Motta was the former proprietor of Linda’s Beauty Salon in New Bedford. She was a member of the Panthers Golden Agers and the Lebanese Women’s Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter Joyce Monteiro of New Bedford, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mario Roda and Domingos Roda. Her funeral mass will be said 9am Friday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-7pm. Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery.
