Olive Correia

Olive (Rebello) Correia 86 of New Bedford passed away, Monday October 4, 2010, after a long illness at the Island Terrace Nursing Home. She was the wife of Manuel F. Correia and daughter of the late Manuel and Louisa (Rodrigues) Rebello. She was born in Fall River and had lived in New Bedford for many years. She was formerly employed as a stitcher in the garment industry. Mrs. Correia was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. She loved to play bingo at area churches, spending time at Nancy’s Daycare and antiquing with her sister. Survivors include her husband; her sons Michael Correia and his wife Candie, Mark Correia, Phillip Correia; her daughter Susan Rodrick and her husband Arthur all of New Bedford; A brother Norbert Rebello of Portsmouth, RI; her sister Lydia Raposa also of Portsmouth, RI; her grandsons Michael Correia II and his wife Amy, Curtis Rodrick, Warren Rodrick; her great grandchildren Michael III and Julie; a Godchild Louise Salo; many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Paul Correia. Her funeral mass will be celebrated 10am Saturday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visitation will be Saturday from 8-9:30am. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation 60 Walnut St. Wellesley Hills, MA 02481.
