Ora Bastarache

Bedford Ora (Gallant) Bastarache 93 of New Bedford passed away Friday March 27, 2015 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the widow of Joseph Edward “Eddie Bass” Bastarache and daughter of the late Sylvan and Emma (Landry) Gallant. She was a lifelong New Bedford resident. Mrs. Bastarache was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was formerly employed by the Acushnet Co. Golf Ball Division as a patcher until her retirement. Survivors include her daughters Jean Botelho and her husband James of Fairhaven; Eileen Daley of New Bedford; Catherine Langevin of New Bedford; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Her funeral mass will be said 10am Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-8pm. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery
