Otilia Araujo

Otilia (Casimiro) Araujo 77 of New Bedford passed away Thursday May 3, 2018 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Augusto DeAraujo and daughter of the late Manuel Ernesto and Maria daConceicao (Rosa) Casimiro. She was born in Carvalhal de Turquel, Alcobaca, Portugal and had lived in New Bedford for many years. She was a communicant of St. Joseph – St. Therese Church. Otilia was formerly employed as a stitcher for Calvin Clothing. She enjoyed going to Foxwoods with her family. Survivors include her daughter Isabel Estrela of New Bedford; her siblings Maria Alves of New Bedford, Gualberto Casimiro of Portugal, Maria Pestana of New Bedford, Leonel Casimiro of Fairhaven and Isaura Batista of New Bedford. Her grandsons Anthony Estrela and Eddie Estrela, also many nieces and nephews. Her funeral mass will be said 9:30am Monday at St. Joseph – St. Therese Church. Visiting hours are Sunday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
