Paulo J. Gomes

Paulo J. Gomes, 49, of New Bedford, passed away on October 4, 2026, at Massachusetts General Hospital. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Otilde (Pinheiro) Gomes.

Paulo was known for his fun-loving and easygoing nature, bringing smiles to those around him. He enjoyed watching game shows and always wanted to be a game show host. Paulo especially enjoyed "Let's Make a Deal" with Monty Hall and "The Price Is Right" with Bob Barker. In addition to game shows he could often be found watching 80's sitcoms as well as listening to Portuguese music.

For 16 years, Paulo was a valued member of Community Connections, Inc in Fairhaven, where he formed many lasting friendships. He also spent many years with Better Community Living, where he made friendships that were significant throughout his life.

He is survived by his sister Lucia M. Pavao, her husband Jose M. Pavao, and their daughter Kayla H. Pavao. Paulo will be deeply missed by many cousins and extended family.

Paulo's visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th from 6-8PM at the Boulevard Funeral Home. His Funeral Mass will be said on Thursday, October 8th at 10am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
