Preciosa Pereira

Preciosa (Dias) Pereira 84 of New Bedford passed away, at home on Wednesday October 31, 2018. She was the wife of Jose M. Pereira and daughter of the late Jose Goncalves Dias and Albertina (Goncalves) Dias. She was born in Sao Vincente da Cha, Montelerge, Portugal and had lived in New Bedford since 1954. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Preciosa was formerly employed as a stitcher for Justin Clothing. She was a member of the Prayer Group of Immaculate Conception Church. Survivors include her husband, her sons Jose D. Pereira and his wife Cristina of New Bedford, John D. Pereira and his wife Maria of New Bedford, her brother Jose Dias of Fairhaven, her sister Joaquina Goncalves of Ludlow. Her grandchildren, Ryan, Nicholas, Megan, Alyssa and Sara. She was the sister of the late Jose Fernandes, Rosa Afonso, Conceicao Borlido, Arminda Moura and Julia Goncalves. Her funeral mass will be held 9am Saturday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are 5-8pm, Friday. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
