Robert A. Arsenault

Robert A. Arsenault Sr., 71, of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.

He was the husband of Susan (Alves) Arsenault for 45 years. A lifetime resident of New Bedford, he was the son of the late Oscar Arsenault Sr. and Yvonne (Cormier) Arsenault.

Robert was a communicant of St. John Neumann Church in East Freetown, MA. He graduated from Bishop Stang High School, and Bristol Community College.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and was employed at Speidel for many years and Norman's Enterprise until he retired.

Survivors include his son, Robert A. Arsenault Jr. and his wife Kathleen Diotte-Arsenault; a niece, Nicole Ferrara, whom he helped raise and her husband Eric. Five wonderful grand children; Penelope, Peter, Gabriella, Samuel and Vivienne.

Robert is also survived by one brother; Oscar Arsenault and three sisters; Pauline Parkinson, Rita Sylvia, Jackie Perkins, as well as, many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Gerard, Donald and Jeanette Arsenault; Diane Whittaker and Yvonne Thompson.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 29th from 5-8pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford. A Mass will be held on Saturday, December 30th at 10:00am at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd, East Freetown, MA 02717.

**The family has kindly asked that everyone meet at St. John Neumann Church for the 10:00 am Mass.

According to Robert's wishes he will be cremated following his services.
