Rosalina Fernandes

Rosalina Jesus (Amaral) Fernandes 95 of New Bedford passed away Friday September 6, 2013, after a long illness, at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the widow of Antonio Fernandes and daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (deJesus) Amaral. She was born in Taunton and had lived in New Bedford for 52 years. Mrs. Fernandes was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was formerly employed as a presser for Grinnell Pajamas until her retirement. Survivors include her daughter Maria G. Guimaraes of New Bedford; her grandchildren Rose G. Doche and her husband Pierre, Michael Guimaraes; her great grandchildren Christian Doche and Jonathan Doche; several nieces, great nieces and great nephews. Her funeral mass will be said Tuesday 10:30am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation will begin Tuesday 9am. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
