Rose Rapoza

January 20, 1921 — November 23, 2020

Rose (Furtado) Rapoza 99 of North Dartmouth passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the widow of John Rapoza and daughter of the late Joseph and Antonia (Pimental) Furtado. She was born in Dartmouth and had lived there all of her life. Rose was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church and a member of the ladies guild. Survivors include her son John P. Raposa of Dartmouth, her daughters Gail Sampieri of Dartmouth, Elaine Mello of Assonet and Carol Pimentel of Dartmouth; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rose’s family would like to thank the staff at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home for the care that was kindly given to her.. Her funeral mass will be held 11am on Friday, November 27 at St. Julie Billiart Church. Everyone is invited to go directly to the church. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing. Her burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Julies Ladies Guild or the Salvation Army.
