Rui Carreiro

Rui M. Carreiro 45 of New Bedford passed away Saturday March 5, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the son of Maria E. (Martins) Carreiro of New Bedford and the late Edward M. Carreiro. He was born in St. Michael, Azores and had lived in New Bedford for 38 years. Rui was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was employed as a machine operator at Phoenix Tanning & Leather in Brockton for 29 years. Survivors include his mother; his brothers Virginio M. Carreiro of New Bedford, Rogerio F. Carreiro of New Bedford, Edward J. Carreiro of New Bedford, Marco P. Carreiro of Portugal, Robert Carreiro of New Bedford; his sisters Anna Cesar, Margarida Ferreira and Nazare Carreiro all of New Bedford also nieces and nephews. His funeral mass will be held Thursday 9am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Wednesday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
