Sheila Jones

Sheila F. Jones 66 of New Bedford passed away, peacefully at home on Tuesday September 20th. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Jones, mother of the late Craig W. Jones and daughter of the late Gerald and Mary (McCarthy) O’Brien. She was born in Bell Island, Newfoundland and lived in the New Bedford/Fairhaven area most of her life. She was formerly employed at St. Luke’s Hospital for more than 20 years. Survivors include a son Robert G. Jones and his wife Elizabeth Medeiros-Jones of Fairhaven, a daughter Nazareth Medeiros-Rodrigues of Fairhaven, 2 granddaughters Shawna-Marie Jones Machado and her husband Kyle Machado and Savannah-Leigh Jones, a great-granddaughter Graci-Rose Machado. She is also survived by 2 sisters Mary (O’Brien) Cabral and Margaret O’Brien both of New Bedford; 3 brothers Patrick O’Brien of New Bedford, Robert O’Brien of Wareham and Gerald O’Brien of Ontario, Canada. Her funeral service will be held 8:30am Saturday at the funeral home. Visiting hours are 5-8pm Friday. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
